Hoorn distinguishes between buildings and extensions from before and after 1950. Older records are directed to the Westfries Archief; newer records are requested from the municipality. It also distinguishes architectural documents from additional structural information.
Selecting records for a changed floor load
Changing a floor’s use, perhaps for a bathroom or storage? Request the structural records explicitly. Room layouts alone do not establish floor capacity. Describe the proposed use and the positions of heavy items. Calculations for a previous extension may cover only that extension, not the original house.
