Where can you find local information?
Gouda directs building plans before 2013 to Streekarchief Midden-Holland. Records from 2013 onwards are requested from the municipality. Its guidance identifies a useful exception: foundation information from before 2013 can also be requested through the municipality.
Combining building archives with foundation information
Seeking information for an extension or extra storey? Keep archive plans and separately obtained foundation records in one project file, preserving their origins. Note the date of each investigation. The next question is whether those records adequately describe the proposed load path. General information about the city cannot replace a missing report.
These points help you prepare. They are not an assessment of a particular property.
Three actions to prepare your enquiry
- Check both the archive route and municipal foundation route.
- Keep investigation dates with location plans.
- Describe the additional load or alteration being considered.
What scope fits your proposal?
Send the records you have found together with your proposed changes. We discuss the calculations, structural drawings and any additional information required. An archive record describes a documented situation; its correspondence with the current building needs assessment. The quotation defines the work and price.
Check permits and other consents separately for the project address. Our structural approval guarantee covers additions to our own documents within the agreed scope. The municipality decides on planning and permit approval.
