Describe what you actually notice
Record the room, where movement is felt and the activity that produces it. Is it new after an alteration or long-standing? Share drawings of joists, supports and known changes. A video may help explain the situation, but it is not a measurement or diagnosis. Ask whether a site visit, additional records or investigation is needed to answer the question.
Comfort is not a direct statement about safety
The experience of a floor relates to use and structural properties. Noticeable vibration alone does not prove a floor unsafe, and its absence does not prove adequate capacity. Define the question clearly: comfort, a new use or suspected damage? Report unexpected significant changes to a professional rather than concealing them beneath additional finishes.
Strengthening also affects the interfaces
A possible measure may change stiffness, loading or support. Assessment must therefore include how an added component connects and where its loads go. Ask what improvement is intended and how it will be assessed. Adding a new finish is not automatically an appropriate measure. Record the design, construction requirements and limitations so expectations about comfort remain connected to the technical appointment.
Practical checklist
- Describe location and activity
- Share earlier floor alterations
- Distinguish comfort from capacity questions
- Ask what the proposed measure is intended to achieve
A heavier finish can add load without resolving the underlying problem.
