From enquiry to follow-up support

Additional storey process

Adding a storey calls for a review of the entire load-bearing structure.

Additional storey process — illustrative concept

Key considerations for your additional storey

Additional weight passes through floors, walls and columns to the foundations. Wind loads, stability and the connection to the existing house also change. Calculating only the new roof is therefore often insufficient.

Start with the right documents

  • Drawings of all storeys
  • Design of the new storey
  • Information about existing foundations and floors
  • Material build-up and any previous calculations

Questions and follow-up support

Questions about our calculations are handled under the agreed support and guarantee terms.

What to coordinate before construction

Check that everyone is using the final revision. Arrange temporary works, the construction sequence and required permissions in advance. Discrepancies in the existing building or design changes may require reassessment.
